The Polar Express

The Polar Express
Written and Illustrated by Chris Van Allsburg
32 Pages

The Polar Express is about a boy that doesn’t really believe in Santa anymore. He goes to sleep and dreams about going to the north pole. Santa asks him what he wants for Christmas and he tells him he wants a bell off of his sleigh. On the train ride home the boy realizes he lost the bell. When the boy wakes up on Christmas morning, the bell is under the tree in a box with a note left from Santa. The boys parents tell him the bell is broken but he hears the bell ring. The book concludes by saying how people don’t believe in Santa after awhile, but the magic of Christmas never fades away.

Personal Rating- 5

This was my favorite book when I was little. I still enjoyed reading it after I didn’t believe in Santa anymore. This book gives you hope and recreates the magic of Christmas. The pictures in this book are amazing as well.
