Susan B. Anthony realized early in life that men always seemed to make more money than women. She thought this was wrong. Susan also thought that slavery was wrong and that something needed to be done about that. Susan became good friends with Elizabeth Stanton and they decided to work together to fight for Civil Rights for all. After the war ended, the two worked to gain the right to vote for women. They discovered that the 14th Amendment was going to be altered so they thought this was the perfect opportunity for women to gain the right to vote. This did not happen. Then the 15th Amendment was formed and it gave males of all races the right to vote, but it did nothing to give women the right to vote. This caused Susan B. Anthony to become angry and she decided to fight harder for equal rights for women. Susan voted in an election once and was then arrested because women did not have the right to vote.

This book too contains a lot of information about Susan B. Anthony even though the book is not that long. The book author does an excellent job proving the point that Susan B. Anthony did not win the right to vote for woman. She did however start the fight for woman to gain the right to vote. This is another book that would be good for readers that struggle with reading to read. The print is big so they would be able to read this and learn a lot about Susan B. Anthony at the same time. This will help the reader feel successful and be encouraged to read!

This is a biography about Eleanor Roosevelt. Her early childhood is discussed as well as her teenage years. The author discusses how her family influenced her to be the woman she became. Eleanor was very close to her father but her mother made her very uncomfortable. Eleanor married Franklin D. Roosevelt and then she became the First Lady after he was elected President. Eleanor was very involved with politics and making America a better place. She worked hard to make life better for all Americans. Her family did not think very highly of her while she was a child. I bet if they could have seen the woman she became they would have regretted ever saying anything negative about her.

This biography was a very quick read and it contained an immense about of information about Eleanor Roosevelt’s life. Her early childhood is discussed, including details about her relationship with her father. The author tells how Eleanor liked being involved with the press and how she wanted to make low socioeconomic status disappear. She wanted everyone to have healthy living conditions. I like how the author wrote about Eleanor in a positive manner because she really is a hero. Many people loved and respected her and the author did her justice by writing this book. This book would be good for students to read because they would be gaining a lot of knowledge about Eleanor and the success she achieved. Also, the print is fairly big so they would feel like they are reading a difficult book successfully.

He also explains why people sometimes confuse butterflies with moths. Finally, Crinkleroot talks about how butterflies get nectar from flowers.

This book has really great pictures in it which enhance the story. They show the patterns on the different butterflies very well. This book is really great to use to learn about butterflies. I knew that butterflies and moths were similar, but I did not know that they were THAT similar. Also, I did not know that the Hummingbird was part of the Moth family. I recommend this book!

At the end of the book, there are directions provided in order for the reader to make his or her own kite to fly.

This book is a really good source to use to learn about kites. There is a brief history provided and all of the different types of kites are explained. I personally did not know that there were 5 different types of kites! I also liked how the author provided instructions on how to design your own kite because after you read this book you really wish you had a kite to fly!

This book tells about cars, race cars, dump trucks, delivery trucks, buses, and bicycles.

This book gives just enough information for young readers to learn about means of transportation. The transparencies are really neat because they provide the reader with another way to learn about the vehicle. A wide variety of vehicles are discussed in this book so young readers can easily learn that there is more than one way to travel somewhere.
